Heavy haul and set a 60,000 Pound Drum

Our crane and heavy haul teams worked together on a 60,000 lb. drum. It was transported to and set in Great Salt Lake Minerals.

The preliminary work involved several weeks of engineering, permitting, widening a road, and planning for safely. It should be noted, the drum has a width of 22’ and a height of 29’. Because of this, to haul it to the facility we used our OshKosh M1070 Tugger and six lines of Goldhofer modular platform trailer. Along the way we had to hoist the drum over a pipe rack using our 550t crane. After setting the drum back on the Goldhofer, the transport team changed from a pulling configuration to a pushing configuration which allowed the steerable trailer to set the vessel on the cement pad adjacent to the crane. Lastly, the drum was offloaded and set safely in place.

Overall, congratulations to our engineering team, Mountain Heavy Haul Transport, and our crane crew for a job well done! Also, if you need something heavy hauled give us a call or check out our website. Without a doubt check out our Newsletter, we give something away every month!
